| I'm posting this here so that anyone that wants to comment or suggest anything can do so. Please, if you want to contribute, go ahead.
So KurenaiOD over at the official SVR 2011 forums asked a couple of interesting questions in the CotR League thread (http://community.smackdownvsraw.com/forums/topic/43534):
"1/ What rules do you have in place about CAWs, Movesets and Ratings.
2/ Do you have a rule that prevents the needless spamming of running attacks"
If CotR had to put forward rules for Movesets and Running, what should they be? I have some personal favorite solutions to fixing these "issues..."
Movesets: Don't allow Finishing Moves for normal moves. Now, I really don't think the moves vary in damage in SVR (I've been using the Codebreaker 1 as a Groggy Grapple and it doesn't appear to be any more powerful than the Russian Legsweep I also use for Groggy Grapples), but I know some people are worried about it. I think removing Finishers from the equation is a fair (although annoying for me and my Codebreakers) solution to this issue.
Running: No running attacks except AFTER bouncing off the ropes or when your opponent is Groggy. This would cover situations when your opponent is laying on the turnbuckles or ropes as well. I think this goes with the spirit of wrestling while preventing "spamming" of running moves (like Triple H's knee attack or Shoulder Blocks).
I don't know if these types of rules are really necessary though. I'd like to hear what people think and maybe possibly other solutions to these problems.

Which one sounds hard? I haven't decided on putting any of the rules in the original post in. What's your opinion on it? Should we just let everyone play the way they want or should we put in rules like above? I personally feel like we should let everyone play how they want but I'm willing to listen.

| I agree to let everyone play how they want...Same as you...but then maybe we should have some rules just to...make it more of a League/Brand rather than just a Fighting Club lol

I disagree, players bought the game and should have the freedom to do what they want in it.

| Hey guys, for now, I have decided to allow everyone to play as they'd like. You can pick whichever moves you want. You're welcome to continue discussing it and I will check this thread but, for now, we're going with the player's choice. Thanks | |

| I feel the rules should be intacted as you stated but with a little cushion. Yes, this is wrestling, but not being able to run as much without spamming kind of cuts off the cruiserweight moves. I say only cruiserweight should have the ability to run more than heavyweight since they're more like to be faster. Far as finisher goes, I feel we should be able to have only 1 non-commercial finisher (any finisher that wrestlers on tv don't use) as a normal move. |
