Today, we have some BIG news on one of the biggest wrestling promotions of 2011. My sources indicate that Champions of the Ring is priming its ring posts in preparation for another year of exciting wrestling! You might have known that already. Big Whoop. Did you know that several Champions of the Ring Staff met today to begin planning their first return match card? No? I didn't think so.


That's right, CotR Staff met today to discuss the immediate future of the company. Sources indicate that the General Manager, Ryan Lee, was also in attendance at this meeting. At least two full shows have been planned with rumors of a special match to main event the first night.

In other news, a Sunday Breakout Tournament is being scheduled, sources say, to take place this weekend. No word on whether or not Jason Williams will be available to attend or not yet, but many within the company believe he will show up if a tournament happens. If he doesn't show up, it would be unfair and unprofessional to take his title away. Just needed to get that out of my system.

While we're on the subject of Jason Williams, there are rumors that his Manager "Mr. Big Shot" plans to stay within the promotion, which should leave investors very happy. This is the most important news out of CotR today as pretty much everyone was worried that he wouldn't return.


It seems everyone is excited about the possibility of Mr. Big Shot returning to the ring for one final run. Many fans have been asking for just "one more match" and it seems that maybe dreams do come true. The company is attempting to determine interest in having this legendary man back in the squared circle. I think it's pretty clear what the fans want.

As for Jimmy Poseidon and his recent release, some believe that Jimmy might have been a major part of the discussions for the CotR Staff today. It seems someone from within the company may have convinced the GM to allow Jimmy back into the promotion. When we asked Ryan Lee for an official statement on the matter, the has-been was reluctant to share any information.

THIS JUST IN

For all you Justice Stable fans out there, Azul Guerrero has finally struck a publishing deal with Marvel Comics to begin distributing the very unpopular Justice Stable comic book series. Champions of the Ring is planning to waste a bunch of money running a special autograph signing at the first Night of Champions show for the reprinting of the very first Justice Stable comic to help promote the comic book series.


It looks like Azul is desperate for attention since losing the Breakout Championship Title to the young protege of wrestling God Mr. Big Shot: Jason Williams. Some people don't know when to let go it seems.

The autograph session will be avaialble to fans attending the first Night of Champions blah blah blah

One FACE to ruin them all...

There is a new CotR rumor making its rounds at the promotion today. Evidently, a fan made an interesting observation on the CotR site about how 6 wrestlers featured in the promotion are actually the SAME PERSON.


Now, I don't believe this rumor one bit, but the evidence is hard to deny. Fans are speculating that after Jason Williams' incredibly successful rise to Breakout Champion, the promotion decided to head out and recruit his entire family to join the show. The idea is that Jason Williams actually has 5 brothers in total and they are now actively part of the wrestling promotion.


There was no doubt that Mr. Big Shot's involvement with Jason would lead to new heights, but this is ridiculous! Could it be that CotR is attempting to manufacture the success it had with Jason with other stars? If so, they haven't gone to great lengths to hide this fact. In one case, Jason appears to be wearing a simple eye mask to hide his identity. In two other pictures, he looks exactly the same except for the color of his hair.


Another theory points to Jason himself, claiming that perhaps he has taken on the role of 6 wrestlers to truly take advantage of the Karate Kid like training he received from his Sensei, Mr. Big Shot. No doubt, Jason COULD fight in 6 matches a night and still win them all but, what does this say about CotR when their only success is rooted in a single man??

No one knows for sure what the deal is, but one thing is certain...something very lazy and generic is going on and Insider Scoop Slam will be the first to report on it!
