| All they are saying is that your credit card information might have been obtained by this supposed outside force that hacked their network. It even says in the article they have no reason to believe that the information was accessed and only that there's no reason to rule it out completely. Your post is kind of misleading and points us in the direction to believe our information is MOST LIKELY in the hands of some internet hacker already.
Also, Sony wasn't being "idiots." No computer system has ever been completely 100% unbreakable. They think they got hacked, and then they shut down PSN to prevent any possible damage they could while they secure their network. At least they were able to do that much. Sometimes hackers get in and steal account information without anyone even knowing. That can happen ANYTIME, ANYWHERE. How's that for fear mongering?
Anyway, it's good information to know, in case you want to take the necessary steps to protect your bank account (or your parents'), but I think I would've appreciated this post more without the misleading rhetoric and such...

| I think we should get a free game or at the very least 10 dollars for the PSN Store. I mean Steam gave 2 copies of L4D2 I think to each person they accidently banned, and this is leagues worse than that. Credit card AND possibly your account info. | |

| Your credit card info is safe.
There have been no reported thefts (Except a few people on Twitter but when do we start believing there aren't trolls online), Sony keeps CC info on a separate encrypted server that the hackers most likely didn't get to, and they use current encryption for it.
This was just a warning to be on the safe side. Not a guarantee.
