Revenge is a kind of wild justice....(Joker/Mercer...closed)

The COTR Titantron in the arena springs to life on a limo driving recklessly through a deserted plot of land. The limo isn’t being cautious, flooring it over bumps and running over some seriously steep areas. It swerves to a stop and leaves the area in a dust cloud. After a brief pause the dust begins to settle and the driver door opens. It sits open for a while as the crowd cheers emphatically.

Andersen: “Finally we’ll get to see the lunatic who’s captured Mercer the heart and soul of COTR!”

Greg: “Who cares I just hope whoever it is they put a dent in Mercer’s ego.”

Andersen: “This is heinous some one should inform the authorities!”

Greg: “Yeah they should because whoever that driver is it doesn’t look like he has anything good planned for Mercer!”

A leg swings from the driver’s door and then a hand that does the thumbs down twice. Slowly, Joker emerges from the driver’s door and looks around the plot of land fiendishly laughing. The crowd in an instant erupts into cheers and Joker paces back in forth in front of the driver’s door. He stops and runs a hand through his hair, a crazed look glazing his eyes over.

Andersen: “Joker, I figured as much…someone call the National Guard….a hero is in danger!”

Greg: “Joker huh’, I think I’m going to enjoy this!”

Joker beats on the hood of the limo and kicks the driver’s door before settling down a bit. He ready’s himself and jerks open the back limo doors and out springs Mercer. The two slug it out with Joker getting the upper hand. Then Mercer crouches down and throws dirt into Joker’s eyes. Joker claws at his eyes falling to the ground trying to remove the dirt from them.

Andersen: “Go mercer go!”

Greg: “Cheap shot!”

Mercer laughs and tries to go for the driver’s door but before he can make it, Joker still blinking grabs him by the collar and sends him head first through one of the various limo windows. Mercer’s head collides with the glass shattering the windows into vicious shards. Mercer then falls to the ground clutching his forehead. Joker crouches down and continues to punch at his forehead, while the open gash gushes like a geyser.

Andersen: “Oh god!”

Greg: “Oh yeah!”

Mercer lies on the ground rolling back and forth cursing Joker. Joker takes a little time to regain his breath, the maniacal grin still pressed on his lips. He kicks Mercer a few times in the stomach for good measure and leans against the limo. He looks around and winks at Mercer before going to the front seat of the limo and grabbing for something.

Andersen: “What else can this mad man possibly do!?”

Joker emerges again with a sledgehammer as the crowd cheers loudly.

Greg: “He’s got the sledge! He’s got the sledge!”

Joker stands over Mercer and raises the sledgehammer driving it into Mercer chest, stomach and back repeatedly. Joker then drops the sledgehammer as Mercer lies clutching his stomach, his murmuring for help blending in with his gasps for air.

Joker: “What do you think you’re doing chump stain!”

Joker looks at Mercer to see him half beaten trying to reach for the sledgehammer. Joker kicks it away from him and lands more punches on the open gash on his forehead. He lifts up Mercers head and slaps his cheek laughing.

Joker: “Jokes on you Mercer……jokes on you!”

Joker pushes Mercers face away and wipes the sweat from his brow with the back of his arm. Mercer at this point is knocked out and Joker takes a seat beside him on the ground. He pulls a permanent marker from his pocket and writes something on Mercers forehead. He leans back happy with his design and flings the marker away. He stands up and begins to walk away but turns around shaking his head as if he wasn’t satisfied with the beating. He lifts Mercers prone body up, hoists him on his shoulder and hits the last laugh on the unforgiving earth. The crowd cheers as Joker lets out a sigh almost relaxed that he’s finally exacted revenge.

Joker: “Oh yeah and Mercer….”

Joker walks back to the limo and sits down in the driver seat. He looks over at Mercer’s still body and grins.

Joker: “…..the price is wrong.”

He closes the door and once again screeches off in the limousine as the COTR cameras zoom in on Mercers face. Written in marker is the word ‘Freak’ on his forehead. The crowd cheers as the COTR cameras fade to black on Mercer knocked out and stranded.
